The Path

I was just starting highschool when I found The Path and it has stuck with me since. More of an experiential art piece than what you would consider a normal game, it is a reimagining of the tale of Little Red Riding Hood told through 6 sisters as they navigate through the forest or stay on the path to grandma’s house (The Path, 2009). Using the metaphor of a wolf, each sister encounters their own personal one in the form of a dangerous person in their life where they “strayed from the path”. Growing up, this idea of monsters as a metaphor as well as the terror of growing up from girlhood, resonated with me and informed the sort of art I wanted to make. Aesthetically, emotionally, and as a concept I have held this game close to my heart, and subsequently, it has also pinpointed themes I want to express in my own way.
